CANADIAN SUPER VISA MEDICAL INSURANCE

In response to the two-year moratorium placed on the Canadian Sponsorship Family Class (parents and grandparents) category, starting December 1st 2011, parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents have a new option for visiting Canada – the Canadian Super Visa. The Canadian Super Visa will allow foreign visitors to visit their children/grandchildren in Canada for a period of up to two (2) years, without the need to renew their status every six (6) months.
The Super Visa must be applied for at the closest Visa Post/Canadian Consulate abroad, and the application must include, among other things, private Canadian health care insurance for a minimum twelve (12) month period.

In order to support the federal government’s new Super Visa category, our firm offers the PLATINUM plan. This Visitor-to-Canada Medical Emergency Plan satisfies ALL of the insurance requirements set out by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for the above-mentioned visa category:

1- Coverage for a minimum of one year (365 days);
2- Coverage for health care, hospitalization and repatriation;
3- Minimum coverage of $100,000; and,
4- Multiple-entry validity (i.e. valid for each entry to Canada during the coverage period).

Our PLATINUM plan is sensitive to the age of the typical Super-Visa applicant (i.e. parent or grandparent) and is available to applicants up to 89 years of age. For applicants aged 79 years or less, the plan also covers pre-existing health conditions. Please note that the PLATINUM plan can provide up to $300,000 of coverage.

Our firm also offers Student Medical insurance for international students studying in Canada as well as any work-related visa applicants that require coverage for periods less than twelve (12) months.
